Redwood Stitchers is the chapter of the Greater Pacific Region of the Embroiderers’ Guild of America (EGA) Inc. Membership in the Redwood Stitchers is open to anyone who is interested in the art and preservation of embroidery. We are engaged in all other techniques of needlework as well. The Embroiderer’s Guild of America mission statement is to inspire passion for the needle arts through education and the celebration of its heritage. Through classes, workshops, seminars and stitch-ins, members are able to build and share their knowledge and skills.

The gatherings are welcoming, with a spirit of friendly sharing. There is always someone to help with a project or needlework skill. The members of Redwood Stitchers are stitching for themselves and many community projects, which include national and local organizations. We also, every year, participate in the Sonoma County Fair, held at the end of July, or the beginning of August.

Regularly scheduled meetings are held at the Luther Burbank Art and Garden Center on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This is excepting July, August and December. The second Wednesday is the more informal, with mostly stitch-ins, conversation, and getting to acquainted. Members drop in at any time during meetings. The fourth Wednesday is more structured, with a business meeting, a scheduled class, lecture, or other education introduced. A sack-lunch is usually brought to each meeting and beverages and refreshments are provided.
